Last week was the annual SAVTA convention. SAVTA is an association that puts out a bimonthly publication and, annually, they have a convention that offers classes on new products and skills for safe technicians to take. These classes allow the safe techs to brush up on the latest products, hone their skills, and fine-tune their abilities.

Lucky for us, this convention is held here in town! (This year they held classes at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.)

LockNet loves getting to know our technicians and the SAVTA convention is the perfect opportunity. Every year we like to set up a meet-and-greet at a local watering hole.

Ian Green, a technical support engineer at LockNet, got the event organized for safe techs and LockNet employees this year. Many of our technical service representatives were able to meet some of the technicians they talk to on a regular basis.

The SAVTA/LockNet Meet-Up

Last Tuesday everyone met at McCarthy’s, an Irish Pub in downtown Lexington. It’s a great spot with a really awesome atmosphere and everyone was really excited to meet one another. After a long day of classes everyone was ready to relax and have a good time.

Several of our technical service representatives met with all of the safe technicians for some time to just hang out and to talk in person. Because McCarthy’s doesn’t serve food, Ian even ordered everyone pizza from Goodfella’s, a local pizza joint that has some of the best pizza ever created. (I can vouch for it, I swear.)

All-in-all, Ian said it was a fantastic night. Everyone seemed to have a good time and there may or may not have been an arm wrestling match at the end of the night.

We’re really glad to have the opportunity to get to know our technicians. We love building a relationship with them over the phone but it’s even better when we get to celebrate in person. Have you ever attended the SAVTA convention? We’d love to hear from you!
