If you’ve had a chance to read any of my posts about the history of LockNet, you’ll know we have been in business since 1993. We are  a family-oriented company, and have grown leaps and bounds in the past few years, but some of our employees have been here since the beginning.

If that doesn’t say a lot about the company itself, I’m not sure what does. LockNet values its employees and I believe that is very evident.

However, there comes a time and a place where people reach the end of their road and choose to move on.

Retiring from LockNet

LE Nunley officially became the very first LockNet retiree last week when he finished up his last day on Thursday. LE worked with the company in the key/core production department for a little more than 12 years.

Originally from Oklahoma, LE made his way to Dallas and began working as a locksmith. It was when one fateful day a customer service representative from LockNet traveled to Dallas and happened to meet LE and steal his heart.

When she returned to LockNet, she had LE in tow and the rest, as they say, is history. LE became an indispensable part of the LockNet team with more than enough stories to go around, ranging anywhere from geocaching (his favorite hobby) to having you guess his age (his favorite running joke.) LE is simply one of the best.

Thankfully, he’s not going too far. He’s still staying in town to enjoy his retirement and will actually be around LockNet a couple of days a week as needed. (We couldn’t let him go that easily!) Last Thursday, however, we were able to get the entire company together in celebration of LE’s time here. It was a surprise party and we successfully pulled it off.

It was so great to see that smile on LE’s face and while it might be a bit of a bittersweet first, it’s one for the books.

We’ll miss you LE!
