We would like to say a BIG CONGRATS to our CEO Chad Miller who completed his first Half-Ironman on Sunday 4/7. Nothing short of super-human, Chad traversed 70.3 miles in 6 hours and 10 minutes. For those of you who don’t know what a half-Ironman entails, it is a grueling course that puts even the fittest athletes to the test. Participants start with a 1.2 mile swim, followed by a 56 mile bike ride, and ends with a 13.1 mile run. I don’t know about you, but any one of those sections by themselves would be a big accomplishment for me. String all three together and that’s really something to be proud of. Chad – we tip our hats to you.
Chad has been training for this race for a little over 6 months, and has been doing so with the upmost dedication. When travelling, you could always find him in the hotel gym or pool. There have been countless family meals where decadent deserts have been passed by, many gatherings with friends where he has turned in early, and many mornings where he has been up well before the sun to fit his work-outs in. It is this dedication and drive that enabled him to accomplish such a lofty goal.
The kicker is he’s not done yet. He is signed up for a full Ironman in Idaho this June. If you thought a half-Ironman was tough, it barely shakes a stick at the full-Ironman. A full-Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. We wish you the best of luck in your training and will be cheering you on this June!
