With the winter months upon us, so are all the many, many germs. There have already been several reported cases of flu at my daughter’s school, which has prompted me to launch into my yearly speech about the importance of washing her hands all the time.
I would seriously be so much more comfortable if I could just find her one of these for October through March:
This makes it a perfect time to spotlight the hands-free doors on our LockNet Office Door Tour! We have automatic opening doors on both the men’s and women’s restrooms in the office and for a germophobe like me, I love them.
LockNet Office Door Tour: Automatic Opening Doors
Reduce Germs
The number one reason we installed the automatic opening doors is to reduce the spread of germs among our employees. While I would like to hope (and pray) all of our employees wash their hands after using the restroom, statistics tell me I’m not that lucky.
Because I do wash my hands regularly, I don’t have to touch the door on the way out of the restroom, saving my immune system from fighting that battle for another day.
Components
There are a few more components that go into these doors that don’t go into your average door.
- Sensor:The sensor is what you used to activate the low energy operator. We have a sensor inside the restrooms so patrons don’t have to actually touch anything on the way out. When patrons are entering the restroom we have a button they can hit. The buttons are also helpful for people who need assistance in opening the doors.
- Wiring: The wiring connects the sensor to the low energy operator.
- Low Energy Operator: This controls the opening of the door. It acts as a regular door closer, but when activated it opens the door and the door remains open for a set period of time before closing.
