If I were to write a children’s story book, it would be titled Kruzer – The Little Puppy Who Could. A few weekends ago, a group of LockNet employees celebrate the miracle of Kruzer’s first birthday. Who is Kruzer you ask? He is an adorable pup that belongs to our CSR Assistant Danielle Walker.
LockNet employees had the opportunity to bond with him during his first 5 weeks of life when he had to be bottle-fed around the clock. He came to work with Danielle and spent time snuggled up in blankets and heating pads under her desk. Kruzer’s mama had to undergo a c-section and didn’t make it through the surgery. Thankfully, all 10 of the puppies found homes within days of being born; however, only 3 were able to celebrate their first birthday. Kruzer’s beginnings were not without their challenges. Danielle had to closely monitor and regulate his temperature and was constantly on the lookout for pneumonia. We all got nervous when we heard his tiny little puppy sneezes!
Needless to say, making it through the first year was reason for all of us to celebrate. Dogs outnumbered people at the dog park when 11 dogs and 10 people got together for an afternoon of fun in the sun. There were cupcakes for people, and treats for the dogs. In honor of the animals who aren’t lucky enough to have an adopted mommy as resilient as Danielle, a collection was taken for a local animal shelter.
Happy birthday Kruzer!! You are one lucky and well loved pooch!
