Keyless Entry Systems – Will They Work For You?

Excerpts from an Expert > Keyless Entry Systems – Will They Work For You?

keyless entry systemsWe’ve discussed previously about how no matter how popular keyless entry systems become, the physical key is always going to be around.

That doesn’t mean some facilities aren’t better suited for a keyless entry system though.

There are certain situations where a client will give us details on their facilities and we’ll know from the beginning a keyless entry system will provide huge benefits.

Today I’m sharing some of the criteria we use to evaluate if a keyless entry system will benefit clients.

Keyless Entry Systems – Are They Right For You?

We have a standard list of questions that we like to discuss with our customers when we come up with a plan tailored for their facility. This gives us a basic layout of the land, so to speak, and helps us determine what systems work best.

Do You Want to Keep Track of Personnel Entry?

Keyless entry systems often come equipped with audit trails. Audit trails (depending on their level of security) can keep track of what employees enter your buildings and at what times. This can help benefit payroll purposes and time clock check-ins. You can run an audit at any time and this is much easier than having to keep track of these situations manually.

Do Contractors and Vendors Need Access to Your Property?

Are you in the process of having construction work done on your property? Do you use vendors that make deliveries after hours? A keyless entry system might be an answered prayer for you. With keyless entry systems you can create codes that only function for a limited period of time. This way you don’t have the worry of unwanted guests having access to your property because you’re in control of the key codes. Plus, you can change them at any time.

Do You Have Multiple Employees or High Turnover?

High turnover rates can be a bad thing for multiple reasons and one of those reasons is the risk you run of a former entering your facility without permission. This is a possibility if they’re terminated or quit before you have a chance to get your keys back. With a keyless entry system, you simply change the code and voila! One thing you don’t have to worry about anymore. You simply add new access codes for new employees and delete old access codes for former employees. Easy peasy!

Do You Need to Lock Exterior Doors in Emergencies?

It’s always best to be prepared and as much as we don’t want to think about a situation where a dangerous person enters a facility, it happens. With a keyless entry system, you have the ability to lock all exterior doors with a couple clicks of a button, not allowing any entry whatsoever. This is something you probably won’t ever have to use but it’s there just in case.

If you’re considering a keyless entry system, we’d be more than happy to help. Give us a call today and let’s get started!
