There’s no way to deny we talk about key system solutions a lot.
We love them. We think they’re great and we think the world would be a better place if every facility operated on one.
(I also think if we remove the calories from ice cream we could achieve world peace, but that’s neither here nor there.)
But just like those pesky calories in ice cream are here to stay, we still meet facility managers who say, “Who, us? Oh we have 700 stores in the northeast alone and we’re not on a key system. Just a hodgepodge mix of keys and locks. Seems to work ok.”
And that’s when our sales team’s heads pop right off their necks and roll away.
Key systems make so many aspects of retail security so much easier it’s hard to believe that not everyone operates on one, but that’s ok. Not everyone knows about key system solutions and that’s where we come in.
The Benefits of Key System Solutions
Better Organization
Key systems allow for better organization for a few reasons. One, corporate now has one place to call for all of their locations regardless of region.
Second, with a key system you can order a key copy without going to a locksmith.
Finally, you can get more secure keys depending on the type of key system you’ve chosen. You can go all the way from a master key system to a proprietary key system.
All of these things spell less hassle for you, which allows for better organization and ease of use.
Easier Repair
If you have a mix of different locks and keys, that means each individual repair is going to be different.
This key system solution allows for consistency throughout all of your facilities, and that makes repairs a breeze. The locksmith will have one type to work with, which will make things easier on your side.
Better Records
You know how in horror movies, when a person is running from the killer they pull their keys out to unlock their door quickly, they can never find the right key?

I blame this on not having a key system.
(Not really, but isn’t it fun to apply locks and doors to everything? Yes? No? Ok.)
With a key system, you mark the keys used and have the option to label the keys in the system. If a person just has a big ol’ stack of different keys for different things, they likely have no idea what those cuts are on the key. If the one key you did happen to need was lost, stolen or badly damaged, you’d be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
Now, if you’ve done your research on key system solutions you’ll have a key system in place That means those key cuts, where they fall on the hierarchy in the system, and the openings they operate are all recorded. Voila! Life made easier.
