You’ve seen how we celebrate Halloween, in this post, but Halloween has come and gone and we’ve moved on to a time of thanks and family. Happy Thanksgiving! Don’t worry, we’re not in the office today, I scheduled this post yesterday which kicks off our “We’re Thankful For” list today – I’m thankful for the technology that makes scheduling blogs and social media posts possible. It frees up a plethora of time and makes the to-do list much easier to manage. But what else is the LockNet team thankful for? From the various things that make 40 hours a week in an office a little easier to the bond of a close knit team here are a few of the lighter things we’re thankful for.
We’re Thankful For – Coffee!
The sleepy faces and dark circled eyes that gather around the coffee pot in the mornings are a regular reminder of our caffeine dependence.
We’re Thankful For – Headphones
If you’ve ever worked in an office this one is self-explanatory. I love my coworkers but their timing is sometimes less than ideal. It never fails, if you’re on a time crunch or knee deep in a project you just keep getting tapped on the shoulder, that darn IM icon keeps flashing, or you’re hit in the back of the head with a paper clip (you know who you are!) – there are 47 fires that need your immediate attention.
We’re Thankful For – Leftovers from ADHS breakfasts
The Architectural Door & Hardware Solutions Department is becoming [internally] famous for making deliciously tempting breakfasts. Some days, they’re for the entire company, others it’s a department affair. Either way, the smell of fresh pancakes and eggs is a great way to start the morning.
We’re Thankful For – Customers Who Ask Us to Think Outside the Box
After 20 years in the door, lock, and safe industries we are rarely surprised. While we thrive on solving customer’s problems, it’s nice to be truly challenged on occasion – and when they deliver they truly hit a home run.
We’re Thankful For – The Joy Of a Simple Task
This one came from our warehouse; the joy of checking an order that’s not seven (or more) pages and takes an hour is inexplicable.
We’re Thankful For – The 2012 LockNet Rebranding
Our collateral and sales material was more than outdated. So this marketing staff-er is thankful for the 2012 rebranding of the LockNet brand. Which included [finally] getting rid of the above shown, “shoulder pad lady”, as she was dubbed in the office.
We’re Thankful For – Having a Family of Coworkers You Care About
There are pros and cons of working for a small company, but most pale in comparison to spending those 40+ hours a week with people you enjoy being around. The people that you can vent to on the bad days, laugh with on the good, and frankly tell them their idea sucks during a collaboration meeting. Nothing brings those feelings more to the forefront of our minds than Thanksgiving and spending our days with family. Have a great (and safe) holiday, we’ll see you after the turkey and Black Friday crazies!
