Last Friday, LockNet hosted its annual Fun Day. Fun Day is a day where LockNet throws a giant party and everyone gets to participate and we all get to sneak out of work for an hour or two and kick back.
You know what was NOT fun about this year’s Fun Day?
I didn’t get to participate because I was all the way up in Boston at a marketing conference. (I have to say my time in Boston was fantastic and I learned so much, so I really can’t complain.)
However, from the pictures and stories I’ve heard from coworkers, this year’s Fun Day was a blast.
Fun Day Plus One
Fun Day this year was a little different than years past. Not only were we celebrating LockNet as a company at this Fun Day, but we also combined it with a celebratory milestone party. We hit a pretty significant number with one of our clients and we couldn’t be more proud. We decided because of this Fun Day should be more than our typical afternoon company picnic-type event.
We went all out.
The committee this year transformed LockNet into an Oktoberfest complete with scenic backdrops, delicious beer and food that would knock anyone’s socks off.
Of course, how fun would Fun Day be without a few games to go along with it? This year we had cornhole tournaments and something a little new… Employees got to throw whipped cream pies into the faces of their managers.
I heard that this might have been the hit of the party.
I was really sad to miss all the fun but was really glad it turned out to be such a great event. People were still talking about it on Monday when I returned to work. It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend and celebrate what a great job LockNet is doing.
Does your company do anything similar to Fun Day? Tell me in the comments! We’re always looking for inspiration for next year’s event!
