I don’t need to give you the names of these restaurants for you to know what they are, and that, my friends, is the beauty of brand identity.

However, brand identity is a lot more than a simple logo and it’s a lot more complex than one might think. It doesn’t stop at colors and fonts, and stretches further than the sign you see from the interstate.

If you walk into one of your favorite restaurants, you probably don’t pay attention to the little details such as the restaurant door hardware, but it’s all part of the brand identity and if something were off, you would notice. It might not be in a “there is definitely something wrong and I want to leave immediately” kind of way, but it would feel “off.”

There’s a reason this is done and it reaches well into the subconscious of the customer to make the brand that much more recognizable.

Restaurant Door Hardware and Brand Identity

Door Pulls and Leversets

Restaurant door hardware can provide a huge bang for your brand. Door pulls and leversets are two of the biggest ways to make an impression, aside from the colors and logo itself within your stores. With so many options available, your choices are virtually endless.

Take Lemonade for example. Lemonade is a fresh, new restaurant located in California that really started to take off in 2015. It’s been a huge hit with celebrities, so that’s helped catapult it into the spotlight. Because LockNet has warped me into the person that I am today, when I saw pictures my eyes were immediately drawn to the door pulls.

It’s not normal, I realize.

But I make no apologies.

The Lemonade door pulls look like, what else? Lemon slices. It’s a perfect way to add an extra touch that really gives the customer a big push to remember Lemonade for the long haul.

In a case that’s as unique as this one, those aren’t pulls that would be offered for general purchase. While I don’t know for sure in this particular instance, pulls like this are usually special ordered by the end design team. In that case, a manufacturer such as Rockwood or Trimco can create the pulls specifically for the chain. Special ordered restaurant door hardware is more expensive but when it comes to your brand identity, your return on investment could be worth it.

Consistency

It isn’t always big ticket items that contribute to a company’s brand identity. Hardware consistency throughout stores can provide a pop without the customer being consciously aware.

It makes repairs much easier when you send a tech out for service and they know exactly what hardware they have to fix. This helps national service providers such as LockNet have parts in stock and ready to go when the need arises.

It also provides a consistent look for your patrons. It gives them a sense of comfort and allows them to recognize the brand without ever having to actually see the logo. Who knew consistency did all that?
