Locks and Links: The Christmas Edition

LockBytes > Locks and Links: The Christmas Edition

locks and linksWith Christmas less than two weeks away, it’s hard to think about anything else. I’m almost finished with my shopping, my house is completely decorated, my mom and grandmother are making Christmas candy all this week, and my daughter’s last day of school is this Friday.

You understand why I might be on Christmas overload.

That’s why I thought today would be a great day to do a Christmas edition of Locks and Links, so, well, that’s what we’re doing.

Locks and Links: The Christmas Edition

Quick Fixes for Santa from Door Closers to Squeaky Hinges

Last year we were lucky enough to have Santa write us back after I sent him my door and lock Christmas wish list. He had a few requests for us as well, which actually makes sense. He’s the one who has to go creeping around people’s houses in the middle of the night.

Items such as dragging doors, squeaky hinges, and malfunctioning door closers can make a lot of noise if not taken care of quickly. This is no good for the guy in the red suit. Check out this article for some tips on how to correct these things and make Santa’s night easy on him so your littles can sleep the night through.

Dear Santa: I Need a Restricted Key System this Year

Then, of course, there was my letter to him. Last year I wrote him a letter on behalf of LockNet and, while I did have a few things listed before a door and lock hardware requests—such as peace on earth and removing calories from ice cream—the majority of the post focused on the door and lock stuff.

We touched on everything from multipoint locking systems and restricted key systems to master key systems and studio lever sets. There’s a little bit of everything in this post, giving you a snapshot of all the things mentioned. If a quick brush-up on info is what you need, this is the post for you.

Dear Santa: How About Some Factory-Finished Doors for My Facility?

This year I had my eye on a different item for Christmas. (Keep in mind this is my LockNet Christmas wish list… Give me some credit, guys. I’m not asking for doors and locks for FUN.) Factory-finished doors are immensely better than field-finished doors for a variety of reasons. This post goes into a bevy of those reasons, showing you that factory-finished doors are, hands-down, the best choice.

If you’re getting ready to purchase doors for your facility, I highly suggest this post as a must-read for you.

In the meantime, if you have questions (Christmas-related or not) about anything not covered in this post, you can contact us anytime and we’ll be happy to help!
