LockNet’s Year in Review – 2013

Bytes from LockNet > LockNet’s Year in Review – 2013

As you can tell from Kaitlyn’s review of the evolution of the LockNet brand, 2013 was a big year for us.  We are growing like gang-busters and had a record breaking year – we have all of you to thank for this success.  None of our achievements would have been possible without our excellent employees and the strong partnerships we have built with our customers, field technicians, and vendors.  Many of you have been with us from the beginning, and we thank you for your continued support.

What’s New at LockNet?

Electromechanical Solutions Department

The biggest change of 2013 was the creation of a new department – Electromechanical Solutions.  While we have been installing electromechanical hardware for quite some time, we recently started doing a lot of work with access control integrators.  We gained a firm grounding in the industry when we performed the largest electromechanical lock install in the United States in 2012 where we installed and programmed 3,200 locks in 4 months.  The endeavor made us realize that while integrators do a stellar job at wiring and software development, they hate specifying and installing the locks – especially in retrofit applications.  This lent itself to an excellent partnership opportunity and Elise Miller, our Director of National Accounts, relentlessly pursued and implemented this new division.

We firmly believe that our employees are our biggest asset and this year we were excited to welcome or promote the following individuals:

Technical Innovations

It’s rare to meet a professional that doesn’t have a smart phone or tablet, and our industry is no different.  Communication is critical in every industry which is why we decided to streamline communications with our field technicians and some of our customers by developing apps for iPhones and Androids.  These apps have done an excellent job at increasing efficiencies for us, our techs, and our customers.

Product Lines

Antimicrobial Door PullWhile doors and locks may be a stone-age industry, new and innovative products are constantly being introduced.  This year was no exception as we began installing these unique products in many of our customer’s facilities, some of which are:

We also became a local distributor for Xlerator hand dryers.  You didn’t think we limited ourselves strictly to doors and hardware didn’t you? LockNet’s long been providing Division 10 restroom accessories including soap dispensers, grab bars, mirrors, baby changing stations, toilet paper dispensers, and yes,,  even hand dryers.

New Identity

LockNetWe felt the momentum starting to shift in 2012 and wanted a fresh look to accompany the renewed energy at LockNet.  As Kaitlyn discussed last Thursday, LockNet rebranded in December, 2012 and with that came a host of changes – including this very blog you are reading.  We also started our bi-monthly Newsletter (shameless plug – sign up for our Newsletter!), and re-vamped our trade show booth.  We are now a major hot spot at trade shows, and with the bright orange booth we’re pretty hard to miss.

I can’t say it enough – the success we experienced in 2013 would not have been possible without each and every one of you supporting us.  On behalf of my family I would like to extend my personal gratitude to all of you.  As excited as we are about 2013 and all of its activity, we are looking forward to what 2014 has to hold.  Be on the lookout for more great things!
