LockNet, Ballet and Ballerinas: What Gives?

Bytes from LockNet > LockNet, Ballet and Ballerinas: What Gives?

kayleigh02I know.

You’re thinking ballets and ballerinas can’t possibly have anything to do with locks.

But when have I ever not had some sort of relevant connection between two seemingly random things in a blog post?

It’s no surprise to me that we have some very talented employees in the LockNet family and that talent often extends right into their own families. Which is why, today I wanted to take a minute to spotlight one of our employees’ children.

LockNet Talent

Tom Western works in the LockNet Electromechanical Solutions Department. Recently his daughter, Kayleigh, was featured in Pointe magazine. She studies at the Cary Ballet School in North Carolina and is pursuing her dreams to one day become a professional ballerina.

The school only featured three dancers in the issue so it was quite a testament to her talent to be chosen. She has been dancing since she was three and ballet has always been a passion.Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset

After years of studying at the Lexington Ballet School, Kayleigh auditioned for a spot at the Cary Ballet School. Once she was accepted, she moved there and continued her high school education online. She has attended summer intensive training with Ballet Chicago, Next Generation Ballet in Tampa, Florida, Boston Ballet, and American Ballet Theater in New York, so it’s needless to say that this truly is what she loves to do.

Kayleigh is considering pursuing a professional dance career in Europe once she graduates, but nothing is set in stone yet. Right now, she’s enjoying the ride and I can’t say I blame her.

It’s always great when we get to brag on our employees and their families a little bit. We, at LockNet, wish Kayleigh and the entire Western family the best. We can only imagine how exciting this is for everyone involved!

Do you know of a LockNet family who has done something spectacular and you think it deserves a shout-out? Email me at whitneyf@locknet.com directly and I can feature them in an upcoming blog post. I’d love to hear from you!
