It’s no secret that we’re big fans of dogs here at LockNet. There’s always at least one office dog around to roam the building as he or she makes their way around to his routine stops and gets the mandatory treats from LockNet employees.
Each office dog has adopted one or two favorite people. Kiwi, Chad and Elise’s German Shepherd, has made a lifelong friend in Jeff Kirkner, while Cody can’t keep his tail still when he eyes Anita Butler from Accounting. Truthfully, a lot of the employees here come by for a quick visit during the work day to say hi to one of the pups.
Which is exactly why we’re so excited to learn we were getting a brand new office dog and Chief Morale Officer back at the beginning of May!
The New Office Dog
Let me introduce you to Mr. Harvey Miller:
Chad and Elise decided that Kiwi didn’t need to be an only fur-child so they decided it was time she got a little brother or a sister. They went back to the same breeder and decided they wanted a boy; in early March, Harvey was born!
He arrived at the office in early May and it’s been true love ever since with pretty much anyone he comes into contact with.
Kiwi is really excited to have a playmate and you would think he would be the one to wear Kiwi out first, but no, this (not-so) little guy loves him some naps.
Many companies have touted the benefits of a pet-friendly office for a while now, with companies like Google and Amazon getting in on the action. Some studies have shown that that an office dog at work can provide a calming effect on their owners and can boost a collaborative work atmosphere.
This month celebrates National Bring Your Dog to Work Day on the 22nd. Will your office be celebrating?
